This professional continuing education course explores the impact of financial stress on mental health and relationships, addresses the challenges of discussing money in therapy, and provides practical strategies for initiating conversations and setting clear financial boundaries within the therapeutic relationship. Participants will analyze research findings on the prevalence of financial stress, identify psychological and societal factors that hinder discussions about money, and learn communication strategies and best practices for setting financial boundaries in therapy. Additionally, participants will examine the unique challenges of addressing money issues within the therapist-client relationship, including the impact of power dynamics, transference, and countertransference on financial discussions in therapy.
